ABOUT
In the spring of 2022, when I was a student at the Cleveland Institute of Art, I did an independent study under the supervision of Tony Ingrisano. Each week that semester, Tony and I would meet and discuss assignments, readings, paintings, and studio art culture. At some point, Tony said we needed a name for this independent study. As Tony nicely put it, "Naming the thing allows one to acquire a closeness to it, to gain a knowledge of. Not over it, but intertwined with it." The name we came up with was Studio Nights. Among many other things, Studio Nights taught me the importance of sharing your thoughts and how a genuine dialogue can help you to be a better artist and human being. Tony and I continue to meet for Studio Nights up to this day.
